==A Few Things==
*'''Average Height/Average Weight:''' Both of these entries say "see change shape minor"...what is this?
*'''Ability Scores:''' In 4e you give 2 stats a +2 each. No more...no less.
*'''Skill Bonuses:''' In 4e you give you 2 Skills a +2 each. Again no more...no less, and you never ever put a penalty in a Racial Trait.
*'''I am who i am or not:''' This trait is poorly named and poorly worded. You should copy the similar Succubus ability right from the MM.
*'''Flight:''' A +4 to ''Jump'' checks is a bit high at ''Heroic'' levels. This trait should scale; +2 at ''Heroic'', +3 at ''Paragon'', and +4 at ''Epic''. Although a flat +2 would work just fine.
*'''Feminist:''' You should never have a race that consists of a singular sex. Regardless of mythical source you are cutting a large number of potential players from ever using this race. And it would be easy to include the Incubus (male Succubus) in the name/fluff.
*'''Develic features:''' This bonus to unarmed damage (poorly worded as well) is overkill. You should drop the trait and include the rest in the Fluff.
*'''Dominate:''' Hopefully this is unfinished...because it is. There is no description of what the power does (although I will assume ''Dominate''), nor is there attack parameters. If this power does allow ''Domination'' then it is way overpowered; a ''Minor'' action, ''At-Will'', and a ''Close Burst'' 3. It should be a ''Standard'' action, ''Encounter'', and ''Ranged'' 3 (attacking 1 target). As well the ''Dominate'' effect should only last until the "end of your next turn". That is a very powerful effect and can easily unbalance an encounter.
*'''Spelling/Grammer:''' There are a lot of spelling, grammer, and format problems with this article as well. You will want to clean those up quickly, before they become a big problem.
Lastly I do have to ask; why? You have chosen to turn a pure Infernal creature into a race. In 4e both true Devils and true Demons are far beyond redemption, and as their fluff basically locks them into beings of pure evil, I have a hard time seeing how most DMs would ever allow this race. You do still have plenty of work to do in your fluff areas so maybe you can lay out a convincing reason for "Succubi Adventurers", but no matter what given their history they will be hard to sell as potential heroes. Thank you for your time. -- [[User:Sepsis|Sepsis]] 06:48, 19 May 2009 (MDT)

=== Physical Qualities ===

Cambions are infernal looking humanoids with deep black hair, although some are born hairless. They have dark crimson colored skin, with some deepening to shades of coal black, and eyes that glow with a reddish fire. Cambions sport both a set of horns and a large pair of black leathery bat-like wings. Their mouths are filled with sharp incisors and canines for eating meat. Being entirely carnivorous, they become physically sick if they eat any food other then meat. As a result, their bodies exude a ripe, predatory stench. While cambions are immortal they age just like a standard human until they reach the age of 20, at that point they cease aging. Although with their lifestyles and the general hostility others show toward them they seldom survive more then 1 or 2 centuries.

=== Playing a Cambion ===

Cambions are the offspring of devils and depraved or unwilling mortals. Most cambions revel and excel in the art of deception, finding no small pleasure in tricking someone into doing something they would normally never think of doing. Many times female cambions are called "Alu-fiends", although regardless of the name others call them they have the same traits and abilities as their male counterparts. Cambions will sometimes pose as tieflings or other creatures, keeping their true heritage a secret. PC Cambions tend to be more controlled then then most of their species; keeping their darker desires under a modicum of control, although they still have a tendency to be self-centered and a want to prove themselves as superior to others (even their "friends").

=== Cambion History ===

As the war between Arkhosia and Bal Turath reached its peak some of the tiefling lords of Bal Turath called upon their infernal allies to aid them in their struggle. A few found their cries answered in a very personal way. Several devils came to the “aid” of their transformed allies by offering to bring them closer to the powers of the [[4e Index (4e Other)#Astral Sea|Nine Hells]] by mating with them (or their wives) and birthing a being more powerful then either [[4e Index (4e Other)#Tiefling|tiefling]] or [[4e Index (4e Other)#Dragonborn|dragonborn]].

This was how the first cambions came into existence. Many of these creatures become powerful warriors and magic-users within the empire, but their vast cruelty and lust for power quickly earned them enemies among those that had first sought out their creation. Even as these creatures gained power and helped advance Bal Turath in the war, they tortured and deceived friend and foe alike slowly attempting to subjugate the empire and seize it for themselves.

Soon the lords of Bal Turath could tolerate no more, and they moved against their offspring. In an evening known as “The Righteous Purge” many cambions were struck down without warning by assassins. Others were hunted down in the following weeks as they fled, and a very few managed to escape and go into hiding.

=== Cambions Today ===

Cambions that exist in the current times have several different origins; some of the cambions that escaped managed to mate with [[4e Index (4e Other)#Human|humans]], tieflings, or even other cambions, others are born from mortals that have been unwillingly defiled by a devil, still others actually willingly give themselves to infernal creatures in hopes of obtaining greater power (or as the result of a twisted mental disorder), and even others are born because of tainted blood in their families past.

The few cambions that escaped “The Righteous Purge” spent many years hiding and fleeing from death. Of those that have managed to live to current times one or two of them have allowed themselves to interact with other species, and in the rare instance they may mate with another being. Cambions mating with tieflings give birth to another cambion 75% of the time (with a tiefling birth making up the other 25%), and cambions mating with humans give birth to another cambion 25% of the time (with a tiefling birth making up the other 75%). Aside from humans and tieflings the only other creature a cambion can mate with is another cambion, a truly rare instance indeed, and their offspring is always another cambion. The infernal blood that courses through them forever taints their offspring turning them into fiendish beings to one degree or another.

There are always stories of hapless mortals who find themselves at the mercy of an infernal creature, some are adventurers who fall prey to devils while traveling to the Nine Hells, and others are the victims of unholy rights or foul curses. Those that find themselves debauched by these evil creatures may sire or give birth to cambion offspring. These offspring have various fates; those birthed in the Nine Hells are raised by their infernal parents to serve them as loyal generals (although other infernal creatures despise and distrust these “half breeds”, they obey them out of fear of the cambion’s devilish parent), those that spring from the unholy rights of a cult are raised by the cult to further their dark goals. The few unlucky souls that find themselves drawing the attention of dark forces either by their own actions or by the pleading of another, and find themselves bearing a cambion child, may discard the child or seek to raise them in secret depending on the mortal parents initial reaction to the birth. If they sire a child the infernal parent will raise the cambion in hell as a slave, forcing them to live in fear from both their parent and the other native beings.

Both infernal cultists and the extremely mentally disturbed have been known to summon creatures from the Nine Hells, and sometimes the summoners will give themselves to these creatures for whatever purpose. If a cambion is created by this union it is raised by its mother. Those raised in hell are often trained to return to the Prime Material to carry out some twisted plot created by their infernal parent. The others that are raised on the Prime Material are reared to obtain a position of power, either as leader of a cult or some other organization. These cambions are often insanely revered by their families.

[[Image:Demicambion.jpg|thumb|A sexy Demicambion]]

As cambions are almost as lustful as they are controlling, some tiefling and human bloodlines have been tainted at some point by past unions between a cambion and one of their ancestors. Because of this very rarely a cambion will be born to human or tiefling parents. Most humans see this some form of curse or punishment from the gods (unless they are aware of their nefarious lineage), while tiefling parents can be very accepting of their children. These few cambions are raised very much like every other member of their parent’s race. The path they follow is influenced by how both their parents and the community treat them, although they are still driven by a need to prove to everyone how they are superior to others. There have even been instances where the cambion bloodline manifests as secondary characteristics in their descendants ([[Devilish Lineage (4e Feat)|Devilish Lineage]]). These “demicambions” will have various cambion physical characteristics, although they are smaller and muted, often almost looking cute. Many even have small vestigial wings. Those that have a devilish lineage tend to be a bit mischievous and often have a healthy sexual appetite.

=== NPC Cambions ===

When using cambion NPCs they should have [[4e Index (4e Other)#Fly|fly]] 8 as a standard form of movement. They do not require the [[Cambion Flight (4e Feat)|Cambion Flight]] feat.

=== Cambions By Alignment ===

*''Evil:'' This is the most common cambion alignment, and the default alignment for Monster Manual cambions. The generally cruel and domineering personality of cambions finds an easy home in the evil alignment. Even if they have another alignment most cambions will express one or two of the morality traits associated with the evil alignment.
*''Chaotic Evil:'' Those cambions that are raised in a cruel or hateful environment most often become chaotic evil. They seek to inflict the same (or more) suffering they have endured, on any other creature they can. These are frightful psychotic beings who will spend large amounts of time dreaming up painful ways to maim and kill other creatures.
*''Unaligned:'' This is the most common PC alignment for cambions. Knowing that few people are willing to trust them, unaligned cambions return the favor and are very self-centered individuals. They normally have strong evil tendencies, but attempt to control themselves so as not to attract negative attention.
*''Good:'' Cambions that feel shamed or disgusted by their infernal heritage may try to find “redemption” by using their “curse” to help the weak and helpless. These good cambions will often adopt a vigilante attitude and choose an area or community to protect.
*''Lawful Good:'' This is the rarest of cambion alignments. The strong domineering aspects of cambion personality lends itself easily to the concept of strong authority and rule. But a lawful good cambion must have a powerful personal or spiritual motivation to maintain their high ideals as those they would support treat them with distrust. Those that can’t deal with the disdain often become good, but still have strong tendencies toward order and lawful behavior.
=== Cambion Adventurers ===

''Caliban'' is a cambion rogue. Abandoned at birth by his mother, he was raised by a group of sewer dwelling thieves who took pity on him. His young life was unhappy, as those who saw him saw only a monster, and even his adopted family could be mean and unforgiving. Now as an adult he finds himself convinced that regardless of his past, he is bound for some great destiny. Leaving the streets behind he has found a group of adventurers that he knows will help carry him on to his greatness. Even if they don't know they are doing it.

''Aliisza'' is a cambion warlock who at an early age felt the call of her infernal heritage. Drawing upon those ties she forged her infernal pact with the dark forces in an attempt to overcome her true nature and actually do some good for the world. She has joined a group of adventurers who see the want to do right in her, and she hopes to be able to live up to those expectations and become a real hero.

''Kaanyr'' is a cambion warlord. Raised in a small city by his mentally unsound mother, he joined the militia as soon as he could. Although disliked and untrusted by his peers he quickly proved himself in battle and enjoyed training beneath some of the cities best military minds. Still even those he called friends never seemed to truely trust him, so when he could he left the city and traveled to a small border town where beings of many races lived as a community. There he has joined a small adventuring company that appears to not only trust him, but seem to look to him for guidance. It is with these people he knows he will rise to greatness and gain a kingdom for himself.
=== Physical Qualities ===

=== Playing a Cambion ===

=== Cambion History ===

=== Cambions Today ===

=== NPC Cambions ===

When using cambion NPCs they should have [[4e Index (4e Other)#Fly|fly]] 8 as a standard form of movement. They do not require the [[Cambion Flight (4e Feat)|Cambion Flight]] feat.

=== Cambions By Alignment ===

=== Cambion Adventurers ===

How do you end a class table? I seem to have a lot of trouble with this. {{Unsigned|Sevalex|20:30, 2 March 2009 (MST)}}

:I saw this and thought I'd answer for him. Ending a table is done by starting a final new line and typing <nowiki>|}</nowiki>. This closes the table template that should have been started on the first line with <nowiki>{| class="d20"</nowiki>. Should you have any more questions, I suggest you use the designated areas for this, namely the [[DnD Discussion|Discussion]] or [[Special:Tavern|Tavern]] pages. -[[User:Valentine the Rogue|Valentine the Rogue]] 21:23, 2 March 2009 (MST)

I've been being a poor bastard, making my characters assuming that all of the information here is correct, and so far, all that I've seen is correct. But I wanted to make a Cleric... And I can't seem to find a definitive list of non-homebrew deities, which seems to be a bad thing for people looking for information on Clerics.. Any chance you could help out in that regard?

:The core D&D deities you see in the Player's Handbook (as well as any from any campaign setting) are not Open Game Content. Basically put, we aren't allowed to post them online. While not specific to your question the [[Discussion:Why isn't every Prestige Class on the Wiki?]] discussion touches a lot on Open Game Content. == Bots ==

Hi Green,

I figured it's finally time to move the rest of the DnD namespace to the 3.5e namespace and update the page contents appropriately. I figure I'll just make a bot do this. This cool with you? Also, I'll need an admin or something to update the homebrew pages so they make new content in the DnD namespace instead of the 3.5e namespace. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 18:36, 14 March 2009 (MDT)

:Oh wow, that would be awesome. As soon as you have a bot ready let me know, post the code here, and then I will give you admin privileges while you run it. --[[User:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] 18:43, 14 March 2009 (MDT)

::Actually I figured I was just going to do it in Python and not even need admin privileges for most tasks, but I'll look up doing it in PHP instead -- it's probably a lot more direct and less straining on the Wiki. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 18:45, 14 March 2009 (MDT)

:::Ah, okay. If you need admin privileges (for something like when changing all the page links to the most modern location and then deleting the old page) post the code and let me know please. If you do not need admin privileges then no need, of course. Also, to get some nice lists to use with the bot I would recommend you play around with the dpl in the sandbox. --[[User:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] 05:33, 15 March 2009 (MDT)

== Interwiki Linking ==
Much like we can link to wikipedia by using the '''w:''' in our link ''(example: [[w:Dungeons & Dragons|Dungeons & Dragons article on wikipedia]]. Any way this can be set up if it doesn't work yet? I have a question about editing. How exactly do I edit one of the character class lists? If I want to say, i.e., someone is combat focused and a good character description?

== Tome Categories Again ==

I saw you started deleting Category:Tome and replacing it with stuff like Category:Tome of Fiends. Can we keep Category:Tome on the stuff and just add Category:Tome of Fiends? I'd like all the related material to be collected under one category. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 13:58, 25 March 2009 (MDT)

== Bot Test ==

I'm going to be running some simple bot tests over some stuff in my User namespace. I might need to move it out into the general namespace, it'll only be "testfeat1" and "testfeat2" though. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 11:57, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

:That would be fine. Let me know when you are done with them and I will delete them (if you want). Also, templated feats do not need the "div class" (or the end div at the bottom) and I ''think'' the extra line between [[Template:3.5e Feat]] and [[Template:Author]] shows up as a double break (not positive though). Also you are only putting the top tier prerequisite feat into the prerequisite parameter, or? --[[User:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] 12:36, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

::The bot right now is only moving the (DnD X) stuff to (3.5e X) stuff and updating the links, so I'm not worrying about any of that. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 12:48, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

:::Oh, okay. Sorry, I did not know what the bot was going to do and then I saw those pages and decided to give some formatting input. --[[User:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] 12:51, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

::::More on bots: what do we want done in the transition from DnD to 3.5e? Do we eventually want to delete Category:DnD or not? Also, I'll need admin privs so I can delete all the redirects the moves create. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 14:22, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

:::::One more thing -- does this account need special privileges, or do some special settings need to be set, in order to use api.php's move/delete functions? Because my bot is strangely failing when it tries to move stuff. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 15:02, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

::::::Editing also failed -- is this stuff turned on? I don't think the problem is with my code. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 15:10, 26 March 2009 (MDT)

:::::::Admin privileges are needed for deleting pages. Moving can be done by any user. And have you tried WWW:Mechanize for your bot? I am not sure which language you are using, however I know that WWW:Mechanize will work with MW. --[[User:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] 11:08, 30 March 2009 (MDT)

::::::::All editing via api.php is currently turned off (see [http://www.dandwiki.com/w/api.php the page itself -- it only supports queries atm]) -- it's not necessarily that it can't be done by normal users, it's that it can't be done using api.php with the current site settings. I am using Perl but not WWW::Mechanize, I'm using MediaWiki::API. That has the serious ease-of-use benefit that the api.php output (unlike the normal mediawiki output) doesn't go through any sort of html rendering, and no sort of rendering needs to be done to feed it back in. == Plural? ==

Why did you make the Races of War breadcrumb plural, as in Races of Wars? There's only one other breadcrumb that I can actually see (Tome of Fiends), and I named the breadcrumbs "Tome of Fiends" and "Races of War" because that's what the books are actually called. "Tome of Necromancy" isn't "Tome of Necromancies" and "Dungeonomicon" isn't "Dungeonomicons". Where is the plural actually used aside from Tome of Fiends? I don't see it in Arachnomicon (the only other sourcebook on the site) either. [[User:Surgo|Surgo]] 11:43, 1 April 2009 (MDT)

:[[Template:3.5e Creatures Breadcrumb]], [[Template:3.5e Races Breadcrumb]], [[Template:3.5e Quests Breadcrumb]], etc etc. All breadcrumbs are plural since they work for all the creatures, races, classes, etc, and not just that page in particular (or if they are not they should be since it makes sense grammatically). --[[User:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] 11:45, 1 April 2009 (MDT)
I am having a debate with my teenage son who, now that he found the errata that Exceptional Artisan, et al from the Ebberon book cannot be stacked with itself, is still trying to break the class by taking the Magical Artisan feat, applied to the Ebberon feats, to again, make item creation 100% free, this time using only 6 feats total instead of the 12 from the original link.

I have attempted to tell him that Magical Artisan must apply to a feat that actually enables the character to create items, such as Brew Potion, but he insists that Magical Artisan ONLY states that it must apply to an Item Creation Feat, which is how Exceptional Artisan is labeled.
== Sorting within categories for SRD pages ==

Hi,
All of the pages (all the ones that I've seen, at any rate) in the SRD namespace have been placed into multiple categories without proper sorting parameters. If you look at (for example), [[:Category:Chromatic Dragon]], you will see that all of the entries are listed under 'S' (because they start with 'SRD') rather than the appropriate page name - if somebody is looking for the [[SRD:Green Dragon|Green Dragon]] page in that category, it would make sense to look under 'G' rather than S. On that particular category page it is less of a problem, as there are only six entries, but in categories with thousands of entries ([[:Category:Creature]], for example) it can become a serious problem, and in [[:Category:SRD]], almost every single page is under the same letter.. This can be solved by adding the base page name of each page in the SRD namespace as the sorting parameter for each category it is in. This wiki supports the <nowiki>{{BASEPAGENAME}}</nowiki> magic word, so one can simply add <nowiki>'|{{subst:BASEPAGENAME}}'</nowiki> within all the category links, which would make scripting/botting the task a little easier if you are that way inclined. --[[User:Superiority|Superiority]] 04:56, 18 April 2009 (MDT)
# Can you please send me [if you have time] any constructive criticism about the pages I have completed thus far - ARE they complete? Do I need to do much more to them or are they functional for the time being? How could they be improved? And so on
# Am I out of order for adding materials in this way? Have I broken some form of etiquette of which I am otherwise unaware? Please let me know - for example, is it OK top be asking you so many questions?
=Fox-folk=

==Personality==

Fox-folk love nothing more than a good, harmless practical joke. At times, they are known to be overly trusting of strangers, especially if that stranger is human.

==Physical Description==

A Fox-folk resembles a fox that stands on its hind legs, with humanoid arms. Fox-folk stand about 5ft. to 5½ft. tall, and they weigh far less than humans do, due to their rather compact size. There is no clearly visible size distinction between a Fox-folk male and a Fox-folk female. The fur on a Fox-folk can be any shade of reddish-orange, pale-yellow, white, grey, or even silver.. A Fox-folk with four or more tails is addressed by using the number of tails as a last name. For example, Swift-Blade Three-Tails. Rather than the normal snout of a fox, Fox-folk’s face ends in a narrower version of a fox’s snout, with a more severe downward slope to it. A Fox-folk’s eyes are typically golden, with a rare few having blue eyes, and such individuals are considered to be touched by the kami. A Fox-folk is considered an adult at age 40, and can live to be almost 600.

==Relations==

The Fox-folk are an incredibly well-mannered, gracious and courteous race. They treat all except those whom they consider barbaric and crude (half-orcs and the vast majority of nezumi) with what most view as falling just short of royal treatment. And on most occasions, Fox-folk will even treat nezumi and half-orcs with respect.

==Alignment==

The Fox-folk are an incredibly diverse race when it come to the outlook of the individual on structured society. The settlements and villages of Fox-folk all have a Council of Elders and a Chief Elder who have the final say on matters. However, even the Chief Elder and Council of Elders are more likely to bend their own rules than abide by them. In addition, a great deal of Fox-folk are extremely militant. The Fox-folk are usually neutral on the lawful-chaotic axis, with a bend towards law. Fox-folk are usually good.

==Lands==

Most Fox-folk live in large settlements and/or villages of other Fox-folk in the center of densely forested areas, building their homes into the trees. There are a many strongholds, citadels, and keeps of the Fox-folk that border forest areas. There have even been reports and tales of great Fox-folk cities on the open grasslands.

==Religion==

The Fox-folk do not venerate the same deities as the rest of the world. Instead, Fox-folk revere spirit deities known as kami. There is a kami spirit for virtually everything in our world.

==Language==

Fox-folk speak a language comprised of short, one to two syllable words, there is no written form.

==Names==

Fox-folk are given a name at birth that is usually taken from the acievements of their ancestors. They may change this name once the reach adulthood.
=Fox-folk=

==Personality==

Fox-folk love nothing more than a good, harmless practical joke. At times, they are known to be overly trusting of strangers, especially if that stranger is human.

==Physical Description==

The fur on a Fox-folk can be any shade of reddish-orange, pale-yellow, white, grey, or even silver. When a Fox-folk lives for 100 years, the Fox-folk grows an additional tail, which will then give it a +1 bonus on all Diplomacy and Gather Information towards other Fox-folk and each tail bonus stacks.

==Relations==

==Alignment==

==Lands==

==Religion==

The Fox-folk do not venerate the same deities as the rest of the world. Instead, Fox-folk revere spirit deities known as kami. There is a kami spirit for virtually everything in our world.

==Language==

Fox-folk speak a language comprised of short, one to two syllable words, there is no written form.

==Names==

Fox-folk are given a name at birth that is usually taken from the acievements of their ancestors. They may change this name once the reach adulthood.
