::I understand that we are a smaller user base and definitely don't have the pool of resources to draw from that Wikimedia does. It does seem reasonable that if anyone has just a bit of money to donate they should allocate that money to the more needy source. Wikimedia provides the core of this site. Any way you look at it we all owe something back. I'm not saying we should all pour money into or else we're stealing. That's the beauty of the GPL is that anyone, even those lacking ANY funds, can use it. It might just be my opinion, but I feel that by virtue of you using MediaWiki associates you in a way with Wikimedia. In writing this another thought came to mind in regards to having our own drive locally. We can solicit donations, pay for some server costs and then pass up something as D&D Wiki to Wikimedia. I feel that contributing as a group speaks more about us than if the same amount was contributed individually. MediaWiki is what the web was meant to be. It gives the voice to the people, creating a cable public access station as if it had the resources of the entire world. I apologize for the length of this. This is really a culmination of my thoughts, finally consolidated. I really am much more cynical than I seem idealist. I find this whole thing fascinating and exciting but at the same time I worry for its future, not just monetarily. I recently came across this wiki by accident but I wanted to say it is excellent, if underpopulated, and I think its relative lack of promotion or awareness is to blame. Also, the edits to your wiki are still coming, even though it is not very popular (only 3,657 page views since October 11 2005, whereas mine has 616,691 page views since February 4th 2006). Also, you have quite the user-base, whereas since D&D Wiki is so new it is lacking that (D&D Wiki has under 200 users, you have a very large amount (e.g. Green Dragon is already taken)). I would say our wikis are about the same (not content wise, but statistically speaking...). I only found the site yesterday, and I still haven't been able to look through most of the great content. Is it possible to upload SVG files, and have wiki automatically convert it on the fly to png? If so how do I do this, when I tried to upload an SVG it said it was not a recommended format, I did not see a way to force it to go. :You cannot have it automatically change it to a .png. Just override the message and upload it anyway, making sure to convert the file to .png beforehand. :Sadly, you cannot post them on D&D Wiki, as they are not released under the OGL (Open Gaming License). For something to be allowed to be distributed that was made by a company it has be released under the OGL. The only reason the SRD is allowed to be here is because the SRD is released under the OGL. Old spells are not allowed just like classes from WotC 3.5e books are not allowed. Hello i'm just getting back into my campaign setting and was wondering something...
Some of my deity's from [[The Test of Time (DnD Campaign Setting)]] have been inserted into the general DnD Deity's and I was wondering how to do that, since the layout turns out ok and more people can use my creations.
Now I tried a few times but it always comes up different then when someone else did it and I would like to keep 1 format for my campaign.

== dlpc or Balance Template ==

I was just looking at the Homebrew Prestige Class with Description page and noticed that the table was much larger and seemed to simply not to be reading the classes correctly. So, I went and tried to see what I could do to fix it (if anything) - I think that the table is having a problem reading the names from the [Balance Template|Template:PrC Balance], as the names that are outside the table had all had that template applied to them as opposed to the dlpc template. I don't know for sure, but I could understand if it would work if we got all of them to use it, so I thought I'd check and see which is supposed to be used. This is just a general question I need an answer to. Do you have to be trained by someone in skills that do not allow you to use them untrained? Like say I'm a paladin and want to learn knowledge (religion) which is a skill I cannot use without at least a rank of 1. :A brief overview: there are two kinds of skills, Class Skills and non-class Skills. Every level a character gets a certain amount of skill ranks equal to their classes "Skills/Level" + their Int bonus. So, if they get 2 skills per level from their class, and have an int bonus of +3 they get 5 ranks. These ranks can be put in ''either'' their class skills or non-class skills. When a character puts a rank in a class skills they get a 1:1 ratio, one ranks in the skill gives them an additional +1. However, if they put a rank in a non-class skill they get a 1:2 ration, it takes 2 ranks go give a +1 in a certain skill. So, you can use any skill you like even if it is not a class skill they are just harder to get better at.
